What does music mean to you?
I wanted to take this moment to wish all my students a very happy New Year and thank you for all your beautiful music making throughout 2025. I learn as much from you as you learn from me and each challenge or triumph we face together births a new way to learn, practice or teach. I hope you have enjoyed discovering new skills and pieces this year and have managed to share some of your music with loved ones over the holidays. I am looking forward to more playing, performing and composing in 2026!
One of my goals for this year is to share tips, strategies and words of wisdom from experienced musicians and thinkers with students via this new blog! I expect everyone is tired from their late nights yesterday so I will start gently with some wise word to get you thinking about what music can mean for different people...and what it might mean to you. Happy playing!

- Albert Einstein
“Music brings a warm glow to my vision, thawing mind and muscle from their endless wintering.”
- Haruki Murakami
“Music can change the world.”
- Ludwig van Beethoven
